Mitsubishi i Gets “Normal” In New Ad Campaign

by Mitsubishi in the News on October 12, 2011

Mitsubishi Motors and the all-new all-electric 2012 Mitsubishi i will help transform the city of Normal, Illinois into EVTown, USA. The company has launched a television and digital advertising campaign to tell the story.

The campaign positions the 2012 Mitsubishi i as the “Most Likable Car On The Planet” and demonstrates Mitsubishi’s involvement in transforming Normal, Illinois into the electric vehicle capital of the United States by bringing more all-electric Mitsubishi i’s with their innovative MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) technology in Normal than anyplace in the U.S. (up to 1,000 MiEV cars for the region) and helping install a safe, convenient and high-tech EV charging infrastructure (a full 30 ultra-fast Level 3 quick charge “refueling” stations).

EVTown is being spearheaded by a coalition of business officials (including Mitsubishi Motors), government officials, and others who believe electric vehicles offer tremendous benefits to individuals, businesses, and the community at large.

“Normal EVTown is a community that is embracing new technology in an environmentally sound way,” says Chris Koos, Mayor of Normal, Illinois, who came up with the idea after visiting Mitsubishi Motors executives. “It is a way of imagining the future and Normal is that future.”
